ATL Search Group is seeking three hands-on Plant Engineers for an established automotive manufacturing operation. Each position will specialize in one of the following manufacturing processes:
- Thermoforming
- Box Foaming
- Injection Molding
These positions are ideal for proactive, technically skilled engineers who enjoy working directly on the production floor, launching new products, improving tooling and processes, reducing waste, and solving complex manufacturing challenges.
Plant Engineer – Thermoforming
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Plant Engineer specializing in thermoforming processes. This individual will support new product industrialization, optimize tooling and production processes, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the launch and industrialization of new thermoformed products.
- Optimize thermoforming tools, molds, equipment, and production parameters.
- Analyze and resolve issues involving processes, materials, tooling, equipment, and product quality.
- Improve process stability, cycle times, material utilization, and scrap reduction.
- Coordinate tooling trials, tool launches, and production readiness activities.
- Participate in tooling acceptance and validation.
- Interpret product calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and quality requirements.
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet customer-specific and automotive quality standards.
- Transfer technical knowledge related to products, materials, processes, and tooling to production teams.
- Collaborate with operations, quality, maintenance, engineering, and project teams.
- Support workplace design, safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Technical degree, engineering degree, or completed technical vocational training.
- Three to six years of manufacturing experience, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Hands-on experience with thermoforming equipment, tooling, materials, and process optimization.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience supporting new product launches and tooling trials.
- Strong project management and cross-functional communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; advanced SAP skills preferred.
- Experience working in an international manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Plant Engineer – Box Foaming
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Plant Engineer specializing in box foaming operations. This role will support the launch and optimization of foam-based products and processes while ensuring consistent quality, efficient production, and reduced material waste.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the industrialization and launch of new box foaming products and processes.
- Optimize foaming tools, fixtures, equipment, material flow, and production parameters.
- Troubleshoot foam quality, density, adhesion, filling, curing, dimensional, and tooling issues.
- Conduct root-cause analysis involving processes, materials, tools, equipment, and product design.
- Improve process stability, cycle times, material usage, quality, and scrap rates.
- Coordinate tooling trials, process validation, and production launch activities.
- Participate in tool acceptance and ensure equipment is ready for production.
- Interpret technical specifications, product calculations, and customer requirements.
- Transfer technical knowledge to operators, technicians, and production leadership.
- Collaborate with quality, operations, maintenance, engineering, suppliers, and project teams.
- Support safe and efficient workplace design and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications
- Technical degree, engineering degree, or completed technical vocational training.
- Three to six years of manufacturing experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with box foaming, polyurethane foaming, foam-in-place, or a related manufacturing process.
- Strong understanding of foam materials, processing parameters, tooling, and quality controls.
- Experience with new product launches, process validation, and continuous improvement.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and project management skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; advanced SAP skills preferred.
- International manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Plant Engineer – Injection Molding
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Plant Engineer specializing in injection molding. This individual will be responsible for supporting new product launches, improving molding processes, optimizing tools and equipment, and resolving production and quality challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the launch and industrialization of new injection-molded products.
- Develop and optimize molding parameters, processes, tools, and equipment.
- Troubleshoot molding defects, material issues, tooling problems, and equipment failures.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
- Improve cycle times, process stability, productivity, material usage, and scrap rates.
- Coordinate mold trials, tool launches, process validation, and production readiness.
- Participate in mold and tooling acceptance activities.
- Interpret drawings, product calculations, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
- Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards and customer-specific requirements.
- Transfer technical knowledge to operators, technicians, and production teams.
- Collaborate with operations, quality, maintenance, engineering, suppliers, and project teams.
- Support workplace safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Technical degree, engineering degree, or completed technical vocational training.
- Three to six years of manufacturing experience, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Hands-on injection molding experience, including tooling, molds, materials, and process optimization.
- Strong knowledge of common molding defects and corrective actions.
- Experience with new product launches, mold trials, process validation, and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical, root-cause analysis, and project management skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; advanced SAP skills preferred.
- International manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
