Our client located in Norcross is seeking for a direct hire Process Engineer.  This is a full time position.  Starting Salary is $85K with great benefits.

Job Description 

The Process Engineer supports the warehouse, distribution and field operations tasks, working with management to identify new process improvement opportunities in the areas of quality, cost, performance, and preventive and predictive maintenance. Assists with evaluating and recommending appropriate procedures and controls to maximize efficiency, and partners with department managers to help achieve goals and initiatives.

Position Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze operational data such as workforce utilization, facility layout, and workflow to design layout of equipment and workspace.
  • Follows Lean manufacturing principles for maximum effectiveness of employees and equipment
  • Evaluates and analyzes current process metrics and performance to identify areas requiring improvements.
  • Analyze and identify opportunities to reduce process variation, improve process capabilities and optimize process performance.
  • Develop process improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Facilitate the deployment of new and changed processes to provide improved results.
  • Develop standard procedures and policies to be followed by the operation team.
  • Design, run, test and upgrade processes.
  • Perform risk assessments; train and guide resources as needed.
  • Work with various teams to reduce process and business variations.
  • Assist Managers in management for capital projects.
  • Prepare project presentations for management when needed.
  • Review and update business procedures and documents based on project requirements.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to the processing to promote improvements.
  • Establish production process procedures and measurement parameters for new processes.

 Work environment:

  • Often works in environments that do not have heat or air conditioning, such as a warehouse.
  • May occasionally work outdoors, in weather conditions such as heat, cold, sun or rain.
  • May occasionally wear safety attire such as vests, masks, gloves, etc.
  • May work in close proximity to other people, such as when sharing or entering office space.
  • May be exposed to loud or distracting sounds or noise levels.
  • Hours worked/scheduled generally 40 hours per week; additional hours may be required or scheduled as needed.
  • Work may be across seven (7) days a week based on event, volume or work projects.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three to five years of warehouse/distribution experience.
  • Proficient with data mining, SQL/database query/information extraction, AS400, RF Scanning and WMS/WFM systems
  • Technical skills in industrial engineering, management, quality assurance and costing.

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Process Engineering.
  • Technical ability; experience with Computers and software knowledge.
  • Distribution and Warehouse management systems knowledge and experience.
  • Experience launching systems and physical programs including WMS conversions, automation go-lives and/or labor management implementation.
  • Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel knowledge and experience.
  • Bi-lingual/ability to speak Spanish.

 

Physical demands:

  • Often work in indoor environments that do not have heat or air conditioning, such as a warehouse.
  • May occasionally work outdoors, in weather conditions such as heat, cold, sun or rain.
  • May wear safety attire such as hard hats or safety eyewear.
  • May occasionally lift up to 20-40 lbs.
  • Works in close proximity to people, such as in the warehouse, company vehicles/trucks or sharing office space.
  • May be exposed to loud or distracting sounds or noise levels.

Travel required:

  • Minimal; may occasionally drive to job sites for observation.
